14,000 Cumulative Visitors and Counting—The Infinite Transformation of Space from 'Youth Market' to 'Busking Festival'
RESPACE’s Exclusive Cultural Event Lineup Blurring the Lines Between Online and Offline Through Creative Planning
"Adding Value to Space."
On the 1st, the startup RESPACE announced its plans to connect people in need of space by planning cultural content in underutilized areas.
Founded in June last year, RESPACE is a social innovation enterprise specializing in cultural content planning. Its core strength lies in utilizing vacant locations to host cultural events tailored to the unique characteristics of each space.
Currently, RESPACE operates several ongoing events, including the 'Department Free Market' in collaboration with online shopping malls, the 'Youth Market' co-hosted with the lecture specialized firm Micimpact, and 'Monster Market,' which sells original character-designed merchandise.
In particular, the 'Youth Market' was established to provide various forms of entertainment for young people. Designed as a "participatory playground," it is held every first Saturday of the month at 'Jonggak Micimpact Square' in Jongno, Seoul.
To date, the cumulative number of visitors across 15 RESPACE cultural events has surpassed 14,000. Each event draws an average of nearly 1,000 people, reflecting the enthusiastic response from the public.
Beyond these markets, RESPACE has planned and hosted a wide array of events, such as 'Re-view,' a party based on underground music; 'Popup Travel,' a monthly travel-themed party focusing on a specific country; and 'Busking Festival,' featuring performances by indie musicians at lounge bars.
RESPACE intends to continue expanding its reach by hosting diverse cultural events and maintaining its mission to bridge the gap between vacant spaces and those who need them.
"Next year, we plan to execute larger-scale events more systematically," said Dong-in Yeo, CEO of RESPACE. "In addition to our regular events, we will push forward with various projects including studios and shopping festivals."
